Pollution in daintree
Pollution is a big problem in the Daintree Rainforest because of water and land pollution. Land pollution is a big threat to Daintree and is being caused by tourists and vehicles. The Daintree Rainforest is becoming polluted and damaged all around. Tourists are littering this rainforest which is causing it, to become dirty and unpleasant. This rubbish includes paper, wrappers, cans, plastic and glass. Land pollution is one of the only visible types of pollution, it is coming into contact with the Daintree's animals and their habitats. Not only that, but it is destroying the significance of Daintree Rainforest and over time it will turn it into a wasteland.
Daintree is built up of a beautiful tropic rainforest, but have you looked a bit closer. Water pollution is having a major impact on Daintree's lakes and rivers. Marine dumping is being caused by tourism. They are dumping their rubbish into the river without thinking about the impacts is has. Each different type of pollution takes a different time to decompose. This is a threat that will cause the rivers and lakes to build up with rubbish and after awhile, overflow! Atmospheric deposition is also a problem for the Daintree Rainforest. In the air, water particles collide with carbon dioxide mixing, to form something called a weak acid. The weak acid absorbs air pollution which contains gases and makes it even more acidic. When it rains Daintree's river and lakes are polluted with these gases, this is otherwise known as acid rain. When the acid rain pollutes the rivers and lakes the aquatic life is harmed including Estuarine Crocodiles which are common species of the rivers.
